About the event

Bodhi Community K12 is a homeschool education center serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. We work closely with students and parents to ensure that the student’s educational journey is filled with rich experiences, knowledge acquisition is catered to their learning styles, and the curriculum is well-rounded in consideration of the whole child. Kindergarteners can start their journey a little earlier and high school students can work and attend school with an agreed-upon schedule. We are funded through the ESA Guaranteed Universal Empowerment Scholarship Program. The consistent feedback from our families is that their child/children are happy, learning a lot, and want to come to school.

BODHI uses a nationally recognized online curriculum as a core and implements other supplemental curricula to meet each student’s academic needs and learning style. Incoming students take an initial assessment that gives us a detailed account of where they are, gaps in their knowledge and where their starting point should be. Everyone learns differently, so we utilize various curricula and resources that would best fit each student’s needs for optimal learning. The school days are typically 4 hours however students usually choose to stay longer. For High Schoolers, we have a system in place to ensure they are on track for on-time graduation and post-secondary education. We are partnered with various organizations including colleges and universities to ensure they are prepared to compete with their peers out in the world.

School starts at 8:00 am and ends at 12:00 pm. Students bring in their own snacks and lunch and tend to stay until between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm. All elementary and middle school students are picked up by 3:00 pm.

Families determine the schedule that best fits their family’s needs. We offer in-person, hybrid, virtual, and remote. Remote means that parents are doing the teaching and receiving the resources from the school to assist his/her child. Most students currently attending are hybrid, they have their own schedule with which days they are in-person and which days they are working from home. Families may choose between a year-round or standard academic calendar.
